Our Unique Selling Points

Smart Aviation Group Europe is an exclusive European network of airports, affiliates, research institutes and political actors. The aim is to make airports (even) smarter. With this we want to make traveling from door to door more comfortable for the traveler, optimize the sustainability of the journey, increase predictability and improve the financial return.

Our society faces very complicated challenges. As a single player it is not possible to develop and implement solutions for the upcoming challenges. The only way is to work together and join forces and intelligence. The European Union supports organizations that work together to solve (future) problems in our society. Smart Aviation Group Europe is the ideal platform to put this collaboration into practice. We are supported by the EWIV in setting up this group. Thanks to our diverse contacts, doors are open to us all over Europe.

Membership of the Smart Aviation Group brings the following benefits to members:

  • the group is the ideal platform for developing ideas together. These ideas are protected by EU law. This makes it impossible for members to use it for their own gain, the group is always needed.
  • Access to subsidy programs that focus on international cooperation for projects.
  • Access to grant programs focused on specific regions for projects focusing on sustainability, innovation, digitalisation, employment and social aspects
  • Access to the group’s (business) network
  • The possibility to contribute your own projects

Our first pilot project, Smart Aviation, has been included in the Interreg subsidy programme. This project focuses on innovation, digitization and software solutions for airport and ground handling business processes. The use of one software solution for both processes leads to many savings opportunities, increased efficiency and improved predictability.

Our experience is that this leads to a decrease of costs, a better (human) resource management, better and more comprehensive data collection, all leading to an increase in financial returns. A good data collection can be used, among other things, for route planning, noise analysis and CO2 calculations.

Our second project, Green Flight, focuses on zero-emission travelling. To this end, we support the airport in setting up a solar cell park combined with the local production of hydrogen. By forming a network of these airports, we make it possible to travel emission-free in Europe. Smart software ensures optimal use of this network.
